The Committee wants to hear from experts, business organisations, unions and any other bodies gathering information on economic and labour trends to inform the inquiry.
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee has issued a call for evidence into the effects of the UK labour market on post-pandemic economic recovery. The enquiry will look at:
- the impact of COVID-19 and Brexit on recruitment, skill shortages and growth of the labour market
- artificial intelligence and technology at work
- workers’ rights and protections
- employment status and modern working practices five years on from the Taylor Review
- the impact of an ageing population on the labour market.
The enquiry’s subject matter resembles the recently launched government review into the Future of Work although there is more emphasis on the challenges facing both UK employers and workers, and identifying potential solutions that boost productivity, create a skilled workforce and protect workers’ rights.
Responses to the enquiry need to be in by 8 July 2022.
If you’re interested in contributing to this inquiry, you can submit evidence answering any of the following questions on the Committee website until 8 July 2022.
