I have been advising employers now for over 20 years and I still love what I do.

It may sound sad but I first wanted to be a solicitor when I was 12 being an avid fan of Perry Mason.

(and also having realised I was not sufficiently talented for my first career choice of a dance teacher).

Maths was my best subject and my careers teacher was always pushing me to be an accountant but I knew the law was for me.

I worked hard at A-level had a fantastic three years at Keele University before going to Chester Law School.

I did my training contract in my home county of Essex and then at qualification moved back to Staffordshire where I have worked the majority of my career.

I did move to be with my Scottish husband to work for a large commercial firm in Edinburgh for 7 years but brought my husband and young family back to Staffordshire in 2010 where we continue to spend most of our spare time exploring the great outdoors.

During my career, I have advised a wide range of employers throughout England and Scotland from household names to small owner managed businesses. For further details see here.

I can advise employers on all aspects of employment law and particularly enjoy building long term relationships with clients and getting to understand each business and their priorities and style when handling their staff.

Please see my testimonials page to hear what my clients say about me.

I joined the award-winning Excello Law in August 2016 as a consultant solicitor where I have the freedom to choose which clients I work with and how without the constraints of working in a traditional practice, whilst still benefiting from the support of a 20+ strong team of other experienced employment solicitors.

For my clients, they benefit from my greater flexibility, including my being able to visit them more often and regarding fees.

I pride myself on being accessible and responsive at all times, only passing clients’ onto a team member when spending quality family time on holiday with my 2 boys.

I also work collaboratively with specialist solicitors in other areas within Excello Law and we can provide the complete legal team to service the needs of any business. To find out more about Excello law see https://excellolaw.co.uk/ and for details of recent awards, including the Law Society’s Excellence in Law Management in 2017 see https://excellolaw.co.uk/awards/

I have always enjoyed where I worked and I have never lost my passion for the law but Excello Law has nurtured it and I feel the most at home here than at any point in my career. I hope to remain with Excello until I retire.
