HR SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS

Unsure whether your business is compliant with employment legislation? Are people issues keeping you awake at night?

If a business has an unproductive or a “saboteur” employee then, fairly and following due process, I believe it’s in the employee’s’ interests as much as the business’ and their colleagues’ interest, for that employee to be moved on.

I can provide that peace of mind and practical support to ensure that you are compliant and that staffing matters do not prevent your business’ progress. “Highly Commercial” “Knowledgeable” “Effective” “Approachable” “Diligent” “Professional” are all words business owners have used to describe me.

I can prepare employment contracts and other HR documentation and provide expert HR advice and support as and when required, by fixed budget wherever possible including monthly retainer. Where the matter is on-going and a fixed budget is not possible, my charges will be based on an hourly rate with budget intervals agreed in advance and respected.

HR SUPPORT FOR HR MANAGERS

Do you want that expert second opinion?

Worried that the directors will expect you to know the answer and not incur expensive legal costs?

Executive Exits, TUPE, Restructures, discrimination, Whistle-blowing, GDPR, Subcontractors can all be more problematic areas of employment law where that specialist opinion is often a must.

I have nearly 20 years’ experience in advising on employment law matters and can provide that accessible, commercial, expert opinion at a cost-effective price.

“Karen’s support during the planned exit of a senior manager was vital. Karen considers the protection of our business and handles the psychological reaction of the individual with care and attention – making the discussions easy and seamless. Karen’s knowledge of our organization and experience of handling sensitive discussions with senior employees is what makes her advice and guidance invaluable.” – HR Manager – Stoke

Employment Tribunal Representation

Had a call from ACAS Early Conciliation?
Received an ET3?

Following the removal of the requirement for employees to have to pay a fee to bring an employment tribunal claim, claims against employers are again unfortunately on the rise.

Thankfully for good employers, they are still uncommon and as always prevention is far better than cure. Taking advice at early stage will normally avoid claims and “protected conversations” where an “off the record” basis to an employee can be an excellent tool in particularly difficult situations to agree terms rather than risk a claim. Even though the best employers, can still end up facing a claim from an employee who believes it is anyone’s fault but their own.

I can assist employers from the initial ACAS notification and throughout the tribunal employment process, up to and including undertaking the advocacy at a tribunal hearing.
